"The Waka are inspired by the recent project here in Opotiki which is a Major new Harbour development for our little town. They are also inspired by the history of the original Waka arriving here. My Waka being Mataatua and Nukutere."

Anna Gedson is inspired by her Maori ancestry incorporating contemporary influences. An accomplished flax weaver, Anna enjoys the challenge of designing and creating out of woven metal, seeing how it changes the reading of her works.
