Michele Irving works primarily with fabric, combining embroidery, paint, and beads. Drawn to the versatility and colour of textiles, her practice is also influenced by a family lineage of stitching, first taught to her by her mother. Her work often features animals within whimsical, myth-like worlds, layered with playful wordplay, where they dream, dance, and celebrate life.
