Taranaki is a majestic cone shaped maunga (mountain) in Aotearoa’s (New Zealand’s) North Island. The form of this maunga and its magma core inspired this slip stitch pattern.
Dimensions: 225 x 30 cm
Knit Shepherd's designs take inspiration from the natural world of Aotearoa. The patterns are inspired by locations throughout the motu and the colours names reference our native fauna. This collection is made using camel down fibre that is spun here in Aotearoa which is a luxurious fibre that is very warm while being light and bouncy.
All Knit Shepherd designs are produced locally, employing a low-waste process.
Sarah Shepherd is the textile designer behind Knit Shepherd, a textile design studio where traditional craft meets modern technology. Sarah's goal is to tell the stories of New Zealand's natural fibres and their origin through beautiful textiles.
Note: One image shown of being worn is a different knit design to give you an example of how the scarf can be worn.
