Raukawa (Cook Straight) is the body of water that separates the north and south islands of Aotearoa. The many faces of these waters inspired this simple two-colour brioche scarf. Tie it in a bow, or keep it more minimal with a simple wrap around the neck.
Dimensions: 152 x 9 cm
Knit Shepherd's designs take inspiration from the natural world of Aotearoa. The patterns are inspired by locations throughout the motu and the colours names reference our native fauna. This collection is made using camel down fibre that is spun here in Aotearoa which is a luxurious fibre that is very warm while being light and bouncy.
All Knit Shepherd designs are produced locally, employing a low-waste process.
Sarah Shepherd is the textile designer behind Knit Shepherd, a textile design studio where traditional craft meets modern technology. Sarah's goal is to tell the stories of New Zealand's natural fibres and their origin through beautiful textiles.
Note: One image shown of being worn is a different colour to give you an example of how the scarf can be worn.
