Sheena Burton’s paintings are bright and playful. Classical in feel, they carry a distinctly contemporary twist.

Working with heavily pigmented oils on archival-grade canvas, Sheena builds her still lifes in the Impressionist tradition. Her focus is on capturing the fleeting effects of light, colour and atmosphere. Short, thick strokes of paint remain visible on the surface, recording the essence of each subject with energy and spontaneity.
