Dawn Clayden’s work blossoms from a deep love of flowers, their vibrancy echoed in the elegance she admires from great fashion houses such as Christian Dior. Her relationship with clay began straight out of high school at Morris and James Pottery, where the material first took hold of her imagination. Though she went on to study Architectural Interior Design, clay called her back, and in her final year she found herself at Studio Ceramics, learning alongside a master mould maker whose roots traced back to Crown Lynn. These layered influences of botanical, sartorial and industrial, continue to shape the refined yet expressive character of her ceramic practice.
