Dawn's work draws upon traditional hand-making skills, sculpting and mould making combined with her love of design.
Dawn Clayden is a ceramic artist whose intricate porcelain vases, sculptures, and tableware reflect her love of flowers, vibrant colour, and high fashion—particularly the refined craftsmanship of houses like Christian Dior.
Her journey with clay began straight out of high school at Morris & James Pottery, and was further shaped during her Bachelor of Architectural Interior Design, where a pivotal internship at Studio Ceramics introduced her to traditional mould-making techniques under a former Crown Lynn artisan. This experience solidified her passion for ceramics and led to a Bachelor of Design in 2010, followed by a Master of Design by Project in 2014.
Combining hand-building, sculpting, and mould-making, each of Dawn’s one-of-a-kind pieces is detailed with real gold and celebrates a rich, evolving artistic practice.
