Waitaha (Canterbury) is well known for its productive plains. The chequered pattern the many paddocks make when viewed from the sky inspired this slip-stitch pattern. This scarf can be loop once or twice round the neck.

Knit Shepherd's designs take inspiration from the natural world of Aotearoa. The patterns are inspired by locations throughout the motu and the colours names reference our native fauna. This collection is made using camel down fibre that is spun here in Aotearoa which is a luxurious fibre that is very warm while being light and bouncy.
All Knit Shepherd designs are produced locally, employing a low-waste process.
Sarah Shepherd is the textile designer behind Knit Shepherd, a textile design studio where traditional craft meets modern technology. Sarah's goal is to tell the stories of New Zealand's natural fibres and their origin through beautiful textiles.
