Alana Clarke is continually fascinated with the coast; a dramatic place where the patterns of weather and light are ever-changing and emphasise the unpredictability and transience of nature. 'Here I feel the vastness of the world and do most of my quiet contemplation, my reminiscing and pondering.'
Alana's charcoal drawings tend to be quiet, reflective, and peaceful, expressing a dreamlike quality. Both have the intention of drawing the viewer in and inviting them to reflect upon their own experiences and emotional ties to place.
Please note: The frame shown is made in a virtual setting to give an example as close as possible to the framing available.
