Alana Clarke

Alana's paintings are predominately inspired by the New Zealand landscape.

Captivated by land, sea and sky and inspired by weather and light, I seek to capture the drama and serenity of our unique landscape.

Alana Clarke creates lively and atmospheric land and coastal inspired paintings from her home studio in New Plymouth, New Zealand, where she lives with her partner and two daughters. Her work narrates nature’s moments in our unique landscape - dramatic and/or serene, instinctively determined by a strong seasonal expression. Working predominantly in oils, Alana’s style is expressive and intuitive.

Alana has established herself through solo and group shows and many private commissions. Her eye for form and colour and the ability to capture the movement of light leaves a powerful lasting impression of place and time.
