Drawing inspiration from nature, textures, patterns, shapes, antique jewellery, and a broad spectrum of art and sculpture, Nicki Cliff perceives the world through a lens of form and colour. Ideas arrive with quiet persistence, often at the most unexpected moments, while driving or on the cusp of sleep.
Nicki's process is intensely hands-on. She works directly with silver clay or metal, sculpting, melting, cutting, filing, and soldering to transform ideas into tangible forms. Each piece is then refined with stamping and engraving. Some are cast into multiples for an ongoing collection, while others remain one-of-a-kind, enriched with solid gold, gemstones, and pearls. Porcelain paint adds colour and an extra layer of character.
