Paul Maseyk, an Exhibition at Kina NZ Design + Art Space
Some fresh from the fire and some from the stash
Having just moved to New Plymouth, Paul Maseyk has brought together a small selection of new works and pieces from his own collection.
Paul Maseyk is noted for producing ceramic works ranging from tableware through to highly illustrated large sculptural pieces. Since completing his Diploma in Ceramic Design and Production at Wanganui in 1997, he has worked with some of New Zealand’s best-known potters, including Barry Brickell and Ross Mitchell-Anyon.
He is represented in numerous public collections within New Zealand including Te Papa Tongarewa, The Dowse Art Museum and the Auckland War Memorial Museum.
The selection in this show at Kina consists of finely slip trailed clay vases from Maseyk’s last firing in Wanganui before moving to New Plymouth. Also included is a wood-fired breast vase, recipe buckets and a set of seven painted rainbow vases.
Aside from this exhibition Paul has been supplying Kina for the last twelve years with his tableware. We are proud to present to you one of New Zealand’s leading ceramic artists.
