Merino, camel and fine wool
Nina’s Knits designer and maker is Phillipa Gee; a New Zealand jewellery designer.
The scarves and wraps are knitted on her 1970’s manual knitting machine.
The yarns used are a mix of merino, cashmere, possum and silk; the priority is yarn softness.
Phillipa started machine knitting about 3 years ago as a hobby and admits to having become slightly obsessed with it.
The base colour is used throughout the whole scarf/wrap; this shows as the vertical stripes and is the predominant colour on the back.
Then the other colours are changed at regular intervals to create the horizontal check effect.
She really enjoys that she’s able to use her love of yarn and colour in the design and construction.
These scarves and wraps are able to be custom made in different yarns, colours and sizes.
