A design I first created 30 years ago in the form of a stained glass work. Whanganui being my home town I grew up in, this view was one that I knew well. From different angles this is known in the River City, the mountain to the sea, the hills and valleys violently chiselled by the river, carved by thousands of years of rain and floods, that make such a beautifully contoured landscape. This artwork is my memory representation, the icons of the area, Poplar trees, Phoenix Palms, Nikau Palms to name a few, all give this area characteristics that seems to never change, well not in my lifetime anyway. The Tui, although an iconic native bird through out Aotearoa, just seems to be the bird that always takes me home.
Adapting his techniques to the digital platforms of both printed and animation media.
His works are representations of back stories and experiences throughout his years as an artist, surfer, musician and life in Central Auckland, Whanganui and Taranaki, all in between the profession of design and display works.
