Aimeé McLeod identifies strongly with Aotearoa New Zealand and its place within the Pacific, seeking to reflect this connection in her work. Spirals in all their forms—fern fronds, their unfurling motion, and the koru symbolising new life and rebirth—have long fascinated her for both their graphic strength and symbolic resonance. Her sculptural practice incorporates these elements, evolving through organic forms into vessels that evoke journeys and new beginnings, reflecting the migratory nature of this country and the shared symbols and patterns found across cultures.
