Pottery bridges the art and domestic worlds for Janeen Page, being both creative and functional. It resonates with her values of working with a natural medium, sourced within New Zealand, while providing for a community that supports local handmade goods.
Janeen's hand-thrown domestic stoneware collection is the result of an ongoing study of her local geology, explored through the alchemy of ceramic glazes. These materials, gathered north of Taranaki and blended with volcanic debris, ash, and iron sands are fused at 1300 degrees to create a rich natural palette carried through her organic thrown forms.
