Hand blown glass Rainbow Paperweight by New Zealand artist Chris Jones
80mm High
“The shape of the paperweight is that of an egg which represents birth. I asked my daughter Niamh to name these and she said they looked like Rainbows.”
One of the defining principles that defines me as an artist is a deep commitment to helping establish an open dialogue between function and narrative in all aspects of artwork. All I have as a tool is a focus on glass. This new environment, its' delights, its' treasures, are all there for me to enjoy and I hope to express these new experiences in this most elegant of mediums.
