Morning Walk carries an ethereal quality, achieved through the exclusive use of layered glazes, interspersed with pastel drawing between each stage. Joni applied thinned, transparent pigment using large spatulas, along with a screen-printing roller and rubber, allowing the surface to build gradually with a soft, atmospheric depth.

Influenced by her upbringing within Waldorf education, including tertiary study in art therapy within the same philosophy, Joni Murphy draws on the discipline of veil painting in this new series. This process involves building delicate layers of pigment, each allowed to dry before the next is applied, gradually unfolding over time. Guided by intention and patience, the work emerges through a quiet, contemplative focus.
