Holly Roach’s work is influenced by the geometry, simple forms and patterns explored during her studies in fabric design and screen printing, alongside her experience as a freelance editorial illustrator and textile designer. Her practice moves between these disciplines, with each informing the next and finding its way into her art. Play is a strong influence on her creative process, while in recent years she has also explored landscape painting, using an abstract approach to memories of places and times, both real and imagined. Her work reflects the fragments of memory and small stories that accumulate to form a life.
