Jo Beckett is a full time clay artist graduating with a Diploma in Craft and Design majoring in Clay in 1992. She works from her home studio creating functional domestic ware, garden art and sculptural pieces. Her work celebrates the native flora and fauna of New Zealand; you will see the New Zealand Pohutukawa and Kowhai on her kete and vases along with the native Tuī, Piwakawaka and Kereru birds on her wall pods and tiles. Her surface decoration often combines bright colours and designs are inspiration taken from her garden studio window.
