Of Pākehā descent, Amber also holds connections to Ngāti Wai through a previous marriage and her child. Her distinctive style, developed over the past twelve years, combines visual art with words in te reo Māori alongside English translations. This approach began as a subtle protest against the racism she encountered in her surroundings.
