Ingredients - organically grown black Ceylon tea (single estate)
Mama D's Tea is a recipe created by Mama D in 1989 when Sri Lanka was engulfed by war and insurgence.
Due to numerous hardships in the country, Dissa (one of Picker's Pocket's master tea makers) and family couldn’t get a cuppa for months.
So Mama D headed out secretly & plucked tea leaves and through adopting a traditional recipe lost for more than a century, she created this special brew.
She sun dried her leaves, hand pounded them in a stone mortar, hand-rolled and fired them on a traditional hearth. Mama D's is as strong as she is. The result is a full-bodied, ultra-strong cuppa, easy to drink with or without milk.
This loose leaf tea is a perfect special gift for the eco-conscious tea lover in your life.

New Zealanders Sally and Alex founded Picker’s Pocket Tea. Their ethos is about doing things the right way.
'For us, that means knowing exactly where all our tea is grown, and who grows it. It means giving our expert pickers the respect (and pay) they deserve. And it means sharing with you the story of how our tea came to be.
We know where our tea comes from & we share that with you.
Our growers are at the heart of our business, and everything we do is focussed around how we can support the plantation communities.
Everything that goes into our teas & tisanes comes straight from nature - starting from the high-grade hand-picked black tea to the organically grown spices. We're proud that our teas not only taste great, but they also make an impact - and we hope you love that too!'
We are proud to say that on our boxes you will see the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) logo. By choosing this product, you are supporting responsible management of the world's forests. The clear bags containing loose tea are NatureFlex -an award winning compostable material made from plant not plastic.
