Rebecca Heap
Ammonite - Jade
Sculpted from 24% lead crystal with a fully polished base, Rebecca Heap’s Glass Ammonites are elegant, tactile objects that blend ancient inspiration with contemporary craftsmanship. Measuring approximately 82mm wide, 30mm deep, and 80mm high, each piece is solid, 3D, and beautifully weighted in the hand.
These luminous forms pay homage to the fossilised remains of ammonites, extinct marine creatures related to today’s squid, octopus, and nautilus. Once abundant in shallow oceans, ammonites vanished around 66 million years ago in the same mass extinction that ended the reign of the dinosaurs.
Rebecca presents each ammonite in a small bag, a thoughtful nod to their historic use in medicine pouches where they were treasured for their magical properties. Across cultures and time, ammonites have symbolised protection, transformation, and spiritual growth, values still appreciated in contemporary New Age philosophy.
Whether you’re drawn to their ancient origins, their sculptural beauty, or their symbolic meaning, these hand crafted glass ammonites offer a unique fusion of science, myth, and artistry.
Please note: due to monitor variations, the true colour may differ slightly from what you see on screen. Although essentially identical please allow for minor differences from the glass pictured here, as each piece is handmade.
