Brendon Sole discovered hot glass while studying for a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and was immediately drawn to the medium of glass, its immediacy and almost limitless design potential. He went on to study glass full time, developing a practice inspired by patterns and motifs found in New Zealand’s natural environment. Paua patterns, flowing wave forms, clear starry night skies and bark textures are among the elements that influence his work.
