Marion creates fantastic and idiosyncratic teapots, featuring intricate and sometimes hidden elements.
Recently she had an order for cups which were meant to be “crazy, splashy, dotty, and colourful" with stripy handles. After making them, Marion realised she liked the drawing she did with coloured pencils much better. So she made herself something vaguely resembling ceramic pencils and toned down the colours and made them less busy. Marion used dark stoneware clay dipped in white slip to achieve a crackle, and some are very fine porcelain.
Marion wrote random things people say to each other while having a cuppa together on the back. Maybe as conversation starters.
