Her connection to fabric arts also stems from a sense of continuity with past generations—her great-grandmother, grandmother, and mother all practiced stitching. It was her mother who first introduced her to sewing, passing down the foundational skills that would later shape her artistic path. The central themes in Michele's work often revolve around animals, frequently infused with elements of myth and fairytale, and layered with playful wordplay. These animals inhabit a whimsical, alternate world where they dream, dance, and celebrate life.
