Wood soda fired with an iron rich temmoku glaze interior
55mm Hx 190mm W
Duncan Shearer throws his pots on a slow moving treadle wheel. Currently, most of Duncan's work begins life on the wheel then adding and subtracting, altering the initial round forms, looking for a liveliness and freshness that will remain through the whole making process.
His firing method of using a wood kiln and spraying a small quantity of soda ash solution in at high temperatures creates inherent unpredictability and variegated flashings and speckled glaze patterns which make each piece unique.
Please note there may be slight variations in size and design due to each piece being individually handmade
