Paul Maseyk is an established contemporary New Zealand artist who works primarily with ceramics. His art practice has acquired an excellent reputation nationally and abroad. Maseyk has developed a distinctive approach centred on surface illustration, and increasingly sees his forms as canvases for his intricate designs. This vessel is part of his domestic ware range. It features a finger line drawing, in white and red, set against a charcoal black glaze. The base of the cup remains unglazed which can reference its handmade production.
