The axe forgets but the tree remembers

Acrylic on board

1200mm x 900mm

Living in suburban Western Australia Tanya felt a strong sense of loss in regards for the connection to land and nature she had in New Zealand.

This work plays like a card (and can be hung either way).

One has lived with nature close to there heart and living in harmony, the other has cleared all land to build the oversized house and feels the constrictions of this life, the seeds are being decimated.
