Tauhou bird necklace
Nicki developed the `Flight' bird series while we were in lockdown during April after seeing our local birds freely flying around, totally oblivious to the Human Pandemic.
Her little Tauhou (Silvereye) flits around in the garden near bird feeders, Kowhai flowers and fruiting trees. Silvereye arrived in great numbers from Australia in the 1850s, and Maori named the bird Tauhou, meaning `stranger' or `new arrival'.
Highly polished sterling silver 10mm x 14mm, suspended from a 45cm fine sterling silver chain, with a 5cm extender.
