Black and White Glaze lidded Pot
Paul Maseyk is an established contemporary New Zealand artist who works primarily with ceramics. His art practice has aquired an excellent reputation nationally and abroad. Maseyk has developed a distinctive approach centred on surface illustration, and increasingly sees his forms as canvases for his intricate designs. This work consists of two parts. The top piece is glazed in glossy black and the base is matt white. The white glaze has a slightly translucent quality, that has enabled traces of the glazing process to be recorded on its surface as a feature.
