Black Glaze Colander
Paul Maseyk is an established contemporary New Zealand artist who works primarily with ceramics. His art practice has aquired an excellent reputation nationally and abroad. Maseyk has developed a distinctive approach centred on surface illustration, and increasingly sees his forms as canvases for his intricate designs. This vessel is part of his domestic ware range. It features a number '1' symbol imprinted repeatedly around each rim, to the extent that it becomes partially abstracted. The colander has textured handles. Its draining holes are arranged in a circular pattern.
