Paul Maseyk is an established contemporary New Zealand artist who works primarily with ceramics. His art practice has acquired an excellent reputation nationally and abroad. Maseyk has developed a distinctive approach centred on surface illustration, and uses his forms as canvases for his intricate designs. This vessel is part of his domestic ware range. It features an abstracted line drawing of a coffee bean, set against a creamy white glaze. The base of the vase features a band of unglazed clay, with a stamped, indented '1' symbol. The jug handle is textured. The jug has a pinched lip for pouring.
