I handcraft small batch ceramics from my home studio in Oratia, Auckland, which is my favourite place in the world.
Ceramics is an act of therapy for me, forming functional objects alongside shaping myself.
I come from a vocational background in film and television and the contrasting nature of serenity and patience that creating with clay offered me came when I needed it the most.
After attending a weekend hand building workshop I fell head first into self learning and exploring the practice further- a journey that has no end.
I approach each vessel as a gift of connection to our everyday rituals,
One of my favourite things about creating functional objects is romanticising the life it will take from its creator to it its owner,
I picture this tangible energy exchange becoming an intangible force, beloved and favoured,
There is an unexplainable bond between a person and their favourite cup and that sentiment is my driving force.
