"My current painting series is inspired by Hector Berlioz’s Symphonie Fantastique. These are being painted on both blown glass and oil on canvas. The images are based on blind contour drawings made while walking."
Keith runs the Grinter Glass studio in Whangarei. His focus is on painting on blown glass and canvas and developing the glass studio. The technique of painting on canvas and glass was developed during his masters degree, to investigate the everyday.
Keith exhibits throughout New Zealand including The Auckland War Memorial Museum - Tāmaki Paenga Hira, Auckland Art Gallery - Toi o Tāmaki, Pātaka Art + Museum and Sarjeant galleries - Te Whare o Rehua Whanganui. Keith taught at the Quay School of Arts, UCOL, Whanganui for 3 years, where he completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2007. He was awarded a Masters of Art and Design (First Class) from AUT University in 2010. He mentored distance students in Art and Creativity at The Learning Connexion from 2011 to 2017.
