CANDLE & WICK CARE
Here’s a few tips & tricks to make your Little Fires Candles burn well & for as long as possible.
1. The first burn
When you light your candle allow the melted wax to reach the sides of the jar on your first burn, this prevents tunnelling & sets the memory line for the wax.
2. Burn your candle for 3-4 hours at a time.
3. Always TRIM YOUR WICK before relighting, with wood wicks you can just use your fingers to pinch off the top burnt bit.
4. Snuff out your candle! The best way is to use the lid from your candle jar.
5. Safety first! NEVER leave a lit candle unattended.
WOOD WICK CARE
Wooden wicks burn differently than traditional cotton wicks. We LOVE wooden wicks, their aesthetic and crackles, but they can be tricky at times.
First of all, a weak flame may be due to a wick being trimmed too short and the wax is 'smothering' the flame.
Scooping out some of the wax surrounding the wick can help.
Or you can try folding a paper towel and carefully soak up some wax giving the flame room to breath and grow. Be careful to not catch the paper towel on the flame!
If it’s just not working out- please always contact us if you’re having any issues with your candle or wick.
