Kereru Green teatowel

New Zealand's Kereru is our native pigeon. Endemic to New Zealand the Kereru is common in parks, gardens and forests in New Zealand. They are large birds, approximately 50cm long and weigh 650grams. They generally only lay one egg per year in a nest built in the fork of a tree and both parents take turns to keep the egg warm. The conservation of Kereru is important, being a large bird it can eat large seeds which is then spread around the forests enabling further seedlings of important forest flora.

This tea towel is  made from long lasting hemp and organic cotton. You will love the feel of the cloth, many people say it reminds them of how fabric used to feel when they touched their grandmothers linen. The patterns are a modern take on tradition that are familiar, fun, iconic and daring.

Designed and made in New Zealand.
