Nerikomi porcelain mug
80mm H x80mm Diameter
Paige studied textile design at Massey University before taking a weekend pottery class 7 years ago and falling in love clay. She works out of a communal pottery club in Wellington. Her current work explores translating abstracted paintings and patterns into three-dimensional works of art in the form of hand built porcelain mugs. Paige uses the Japanese pottery technique of nerikomi to build a thick block of coloured, patterned clay which is then sliced and formed into mugs by hand. Due to the nature of the process, and Paige juggling pottery around a full-time day job, each nerikomi block is unique and only small batches of mugs are made at a time.
