Kakapo Green Feather
This glass pendant is inspired by the vibrant green feathers of the Kakapo bird. A large flightless noctournal bird that held great cultural and spiritual value for Maori.
Kakapo feathers were often individually woven into cloaks, their skins softened and used in garments for the wives and daughters of chiefs. This bird is now one of the rarest parrots in the world, saved from extinction only by an intensive programme of care and management.
