Artist - Scott Valintine

Scott Valintine is a Taranaki student of Industrial Design deviating into a practice of sci-fi illustration driven by a fascination of anything mechanical, primarily dominated by not too distant future aero and astronautics with an emphasis on functionality. The use of a smaller scale reflects the lack of intimacy we have with often famous and easily recognisable technology that is constantly out of public reach, a closer look helps shed some light on these murky understandings.

"Typically my medium of choice is the smallest tipped black ink pen I can find, monotone illustration with crisp, graphic detail with a broken edge forcing the mind to fill in the blanks. Occasionally I will use a slim palette of felt rendering markers that sometimes have an appearance of watercolour, keeping in touch with my daydreamy memories of a nonexistent yesteryear."
