Justin spent ten years in Golden bay and Nelson learning many different arts and crafts, finally focusing on jewellery. Firstly in carving and inlay and then later moving into using silver. Night classes helped him gain the basics but he is mainly self-taught. Through experimentation, trial and error he has refined his workings to create statement pieces of jewellery.
All of his work is hand made and the pure raw silver is roughly beaten and peened (surface textured) to create a refraction of light. High quality paua from the deep south of New Zealand is brought together with hand woven durable linen cord.
