Biography
Carley was born and raised in Hamilton but moved to Dunedin in her late teens. She studied at the Otago Polytechnic School of Art, Craft and Design and earned a Diploma in Craft Design in 1999 and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2000 with jewellery as her major for both. From there she has been slowly starting to get her work around the country into a mix of design stores and galleries. She likes to explore form, shapes, colour and texture. Carley often uses different colours of resin in her jeweller enclosing it in silver to form a range of brooches, earrings and necklaces. Earrings come etched with images of nature like the kowhai flower and butterflies. |
